Our approach emphasizes building capacity in Indigenous communities to engage community members in researching their own traditions and land use practices utilizing innovative software solutions.
We specialize in Indigenous knowledge and land use research in relation to environmental impact assessments. Our suite of software solutions supports communities in field-data collection as well as management of research data and consultation tracking.
Services
Research
Our researchers have extensive experience working in collaboration with Indigenous communities. We have years of experience conducting cultural research, including Traditional Land Use (TLU), Traditional Use Studies (TUS), Cultural Heritage Assessments (CHA), and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) studies.
Digital
Our suite of services includes GeoKeeper, a community-based monitoring app; the Community KnowledgeKeeper, a traditional knowledge and consultation management database with an integrated response letter system; and NationsConnect, a centralized consultations and referrals submission portal.
Media Production
Our collaborative media productions communicate the perspectives, values, and priorities of the communities we work with. We use multimedia storytelling in an effective and accessible way — telling community stories that include the impacts of industrial development and land use planning processes.
